Raincross Quilt Guild 2021 Fall Retreat -- Sewing on the Sand

Date:            Oct. 21 - Oct. 24, 2021 (Thursday - Sunday)

                    Check in - 2:00 pm Check out - 12:00 noon

Location:    913 S Pacific St, Units A & B, Oceanside, CA

Cost:            $260 (20 participants) per person, includes all meals

                    REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW. Deposit of $100 to hold your spot

                    **Due in full by Sept 21, 2021.

This is the same venue as last year - A beautiful 2-story duplex, which sleeps 20 people with LOTS of room to sew. It's on the beachfront with a view of the ocean!

There will be no "organized" Make-n-Takes, but we'll welcome anyone who would like to share a project or technique with the group. Please let the committee know, and we'll put the word out with supplies needed, etc. 

*** There is limited parking at the house. There is parking on the street. You may unload at the house and then park. It may be helpful to carpool with other attendees.

Quilter's Yard Sale this Saturday April 17th

"I'm having a sale on Saturday April 17.  Selling thousands of buttons, hundreds of great zippers of various sizes and colors, cording black and white, thread, and a lot, lot, lot of fabric, including Kaufman,  Kona, stripes and plaids etc. Prices 2-5$. Selling very cheap.  I also have a ton of ties. A couple of wall quilt racks never used. All needs to go will sale very cheap.If anyone is interested, my sale is this Saturday April 17th from 8am to 12pm at 2687 Maude St, Riverside CA." Our next virtual guild meeting is coming up fast, so you just have a few days left to get your 50% Challenge projects finished and get a picture of it to Cassandra for inclusion in the guild meeting presentation!

While you're at it, please also send in a picture of your completed March 2021 Raincross Quilt Guild Christmas Mystery Block of the Month - we may not be able to pin them to a sheet hanging in the Goeske Center, but we can hang them together on our virtual "sheet"!

Last chance to donate for the opportunity to win the African Queen Charity Quilts!

LAST CHANCE! If you are donating by check or cash, please call Yvonne to arrange a drop off! 

With the gracious help of quilters from the Raincross Quilt Guild, Weinsteins 2 Uganda are accepting donations for the opportunity to own one of two quilts comprised of "Africa Queen" blocks and fabrics from Uganda. 100% of the money will go to Adjumani, Uganda, an area with camps currently holding over 1 million refugees from South Sudan. The money will be used to purchase seeds and farming supplies and tools so that people will be able to plant gardens and grow their own food.

Two tickets will be drawn on April 20th, 2021. Ticket holders will be notified by phone/email and arrangements made to deliver your quilt (no additional charge for mailing if necessary).

$5 for 6 tickets

$10 for 15 tickets

$20 for 35 tickets

$50 for 100 tickets

$100 for 300 tickets

Update to First Block of Month for 2021, Christmas Mystery; Time change for Pajama

For those getting started on the 2021 Block of Month, the first block had a typo in trim size on step 3. I've fixed the typo and replaced the pattern instructions, which are available here.

As a reminder, we want to see your blocks, so once you are finished, please send me a picture to include in our monthly guild presentation. Thank you!

We are also modifying the start and end time for the Pajama Time Zoom Group happening this Saturday (and every second Saturday); it will now be from 7pm to 10pm. The Zoom link is available on the Facebook page or feel free to request it .

Final Update: Supplies Needed for the Women of Uganda

Thank you to everyone who has stepped up and helped purchase supplies to support Jeff and Yvonne's missionary work in Uganda! While there are a still a few items on the list, it is dwindling down, as is our time to get these ordered and to Paula W. in preparation for the Jeff and Yvonne to leave. So that we don't have much too of one item and none of another, please contact Paula directly for suggestions on what is left to purchase and to arrange delivery/pickup.
