Susan C showed us a fabulous and easy way to bind our quilts. I'm going to try it with my next quilt. Browsing through the NET, I found a great demonstration of how to bring the backing forward and bind a quilt with mitered corners. Check it out here. See middle of article. Photos below just to give you a visual on how it's done. In real life I would have folded the back to meet the top of the quilt and then done what the photos show to have no frayed edges. If you don't have one-two inches to do this, just iron a seam allowance over.

19 quilts are in the process of being finished for local Veterans. If you're a long armer, please consider quilting one for the guild. Backing and batting can be provided.
March 22nd - Sylvia Davis Workshop - see left sidebar to find out more. Blue Bird Quilts at meeting.
April 12th - Community Service Sew Day - location tentative - will let you know. Yard Sale meeting - bring what you no longer want that is quilty-wise.
May 20th - Speaker and Workshop the following Saturday - reserve the dates.

We each have to register for this national event as well as the group registration that has been done by Susan (that's the top part of the info below - just send the info for the four lines to Betsy.)
REGISTRATION DETAILS –
Whether you have arranged for a Sew Day with your local group or if you plan to sit and sew at home, you will want to send your contact information (individual and/or group) to Betsy Podriznik, our Special Events Coordinator.
Betsy will be pulling names all day long and calling the winning participants with gifts that have been provided for the sew day.
Registration deadline is January 30, 2014.
