1 yard of coordinating fabric for sahsing and border
1/2 yard for binding
batting and backing for an approximately 32" by 34" quilt.

See you then!

117 blocks equal

some fabulous Riverside quilts! At our last meeting, guild members showed their Block of the Month (BOM) creations for 2012.  What wonderful quilts, and we're sure more are to come.  Here are the first 10 presented:
Our BOM Queen's masterpiece of designing!
Sandy S's rendition - a smaller wall hanging to fit her space.
 Jan C's hand quilted version
 Cheryl's centerpiece.
Paula W's version - it's brighter than it looks!
 Chris Kern's postage stamp version
Here's a close-up of one of the cancelled stamps
 Mary T's modern interpretation!
Here's one by Sandi S!
If either of the next ones is yours, please let me know - I didn't get all the names!

Aren't they fabulous!

Evie R. will be taking sign-ups at this month's meeting. Call or email Evie directly or leave a comment on this post.

For those who would like to carpool, we will meet at the back of Sears.  Please let me know if you would like to carpool and whether you are open to being a driver. Last year's tour was great fun. Many of us followed the tour with lunch and visits to quilt shops along the way home.  Directions and further details will be emailed to those who sign up.

Did you Spring Fling?

The Spring Fling was a success!  In fact it was such a great success that some of the shops ran out of block kits for the Monet quilt.   If you have an extra block from one of the stores or got some but not all of the block kit instructions for the quilt, please bring these to the next meeting (March 19th) and those interested can meet together at break or after the meeting to exchange kits or share block instructions.  Contact Debbie W for more info.

The Mystery Box

is compiled of the nice items members donate toward this fund raiser.  Do you have something you bought for quilting that wasn't what you really wanted or found you had a duplicate?  Did you decide that that last pattern you bought, while still cute or pretty or fascinating,  you're not going to make it now?  Consider donating slightly used items to filling a mystery box.  All proceeds go toward our community service endeavors by our guild.  Contact Deanna B if you have something new or like new to contribute.

How are you doing on

your Riverside quilt?  I'm working on how I want to set my blocks - have a far ways to go! Don't have all the blocks?  How about making a wall hanging with the ones you do, or a table runner or  a pillow?  We'd love to see your creation.  Not enough time for one of those - the Guild board thought making a quilt for the Goeske Center would be nice.  We have a few of the blocks toward it.  If you'd like to contribute one of yours (maybe you made two of one block), give Jeri a call or email her.

Leave a comment on this post and win a book! One lucky commentator will be chosen the day before the next meeting.  Tell us how you're doing.
