Corny Jokes (candy corny?)

Q:  Why did the vampire get fired from the blood bank?
A:  He was caught drinking on the job!
Q:  What do skeletons say before eating?
A:  Bone Appetit!
Q:  How can you tell if a vampire has a horrible cold?
A:  By his deep loud coffin!
Q:  How do you mend a broken Jack-o-lantern?
A:  With a pumpkin patch.
Q: Why didn’t the scarecrow eat dinner?
A: He was already stuffed.

Tee-hee!

2017 Reindeer Dash This Weekend

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring-ting-tingling, too
Come on, it's lovely weather for a Reindeer Dash with you!

(The sound was so loud, my phone sort of muted it down a bit...but trust me, they're LOUD.)

Hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner, but it's time to make your list and check it twice and get those Christmas gift projects stitched up!

Quilters Estate Sale October 8th

From Cherry Berry Quilts...

"Hello Everyone,

It is with a heavy saddened heart that this email get crafted. As many of you know we recently lost a great friend in Sharon Blackburn. Sharon was an avid quilter and sewist who's skill and knowledge were only exceeded by her generosity and kindness. Sharon was a great mentor to us as we started this business and became a great friend through the years. Her sudden passing was a shock to us all and we are working with her husband Charlie to help liquidate her sewing room and supplies. To that end there are a number of machines that we will outline here that were kept in immaculate condition and a significant stash that needs to be liquidated.

Sunday October 8th 11am-4pm
Cherry Berry Quilts, 1096 Calimesa Blvd B, Calimesa, CA 92320
Fabric $3/yd
Threads, quilts, and other notions

All items will be 1st come, 1 served.
CASH ONLY"

September 2017 Meeting Review

We had such a great meeting two weeks ago with the fabulous and informative Heidi Stagno of Heidi's Longarm Quilting Center in Calimesa. But first, we were serenaded by Jeri R. and Susan C. singing 'My Favorite Quilting Things', modified by Terri Dobitz and sung to the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein 'My Favorite Things' from the musical The Sound of Music, which was enjoyed by all, including our 7 visitors!

Heidi gave quite a presentation on machine quilting, reminding us that it's not a quilt until it's quilted, we don't have to use cotton thread to quilt our quilts, and when you're stuck in a corner, just ditch it and stitch it! Her workshop the following Saturday was fantastic and I highly recommend that you check out her Quilted Feathers class coming up on December 9th.

Elly H. was not able to join us, but Jeri R. and Susan M. showed off our next BOM, Spinning Pinwheel. Instructions are here.

Also, due to some unfortunate flooding and cancellations, we're postponing the Home Room Tour that was scheduled for October 21st until sometime in the spring.

Susan C. announced that we'll have our annual Quilt of Valor presentation on Saturday November 11th at the East Hills Community Church. If anyone still has an QoV quilt at home, finished or not, please finish if you and regardless, bring it to the October meeting.

Barbara M. announced that we have a few spots still available for the Raincross Fall Retreat to Campbell House, so please contact her if you are interested.
