Happy Thanksgiving!

Don't let the turkeys get you down.

Reminder: Guild meeting is Today!! (if you get this on Tuesday)

Hi ladies! I kept thinking I already posted this aaaand...I hadn't! So hear you go, sorry it's a little late.

It's our annual Grab Game this meeting, so bring your finished casserole carriers in unmarked bags. And I know it's a busy time, but remember, this is a short week that ends in shopping and pie.

Here's your reminder list of things to bring:
  • Your homemade and awesome casserole carrier in unmarked bag for the Grab Game
  • Your homemade name badge
  • Your block of the month
  • Your Raincross Quilt Guild pin, which is worth an EXTRA ticket in the door prize drawing! If you don't have one, you can purchase one for $5 at the door.
  • If you were born in January, June, or September, you're invited to bring a snack to share (but it's not required!).
  • Bottled water or other non-alcoholic drink
See you all today (if you get this on Tuesday)!

Southern California Council of Quilt Guilds - California Fire Victims

"Mother Nature just won’t give California a break. Once again the fires are raging up and down the state. The loss of life and property is horrific. Please keep the fire victims in your thoughts and prayers.

While we don’t know of an organized effort to collect and distribute quilts, we’re certain there will be a need and that guilds/shops/individuals will step in to help organize a distribution effort. If you know of any projects, please let us know so we can share the information.

In the meantime, we know there is a need so let’s keep making quilts. If your guild is already working on quilts with a specific block in mind and you want/need more blocks, please let us know. We’ll pass the info along.

To our Member Guilds in the fire ravaged areas, please let us know if any of your members have lost their homes. Send the member’s name, address and contact info (email/telephone) to Pam Overton (pam @ travelingquilters . com) so we can include them as we consider donations from the SCCQG Disaster Fund.

Here's your monthly round up of upcoming events this month at Raincross Quilt Guild, specifically what to expect at our next guild meeting and other unique events.

Just a reminder of other regularly scheduled events include Sew Night (the first Wednesday of the month at the First United Methodist Church in Riverside) and Friendship Quilters (the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at the Goeske Center). If you are interested in those events, please check out the guild Calendar and/or post in the comments below and we'll help you learn more about them.

Coming up at this month's Raincross Quilt Guild meeting...

It's time for our annual Grab Game! This year we're making casserole carriers, so whip up something awesome you'd really like to keep for yourself (or do what I did and just make two!) and bring it an unmarked bag. If you're looking for a free pattern, most of the links in this post are still available.

And yes, our guild meeting this month is the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week.

Other unique RQG activities coming up this month...

...has already happened! We had a fantastic time November 1-4th at the Campbell House in Twentynine Palms for our annual fall retreat. More news should be available soon for upcoming retreats, so keep saving your dollars!
