Good Time had by All

And the winner is.............
at our March quilt guild meeting that is.  Lots of good food - thank you, Ladies!!  Wonderful show n share, and a great mystery box, that a mystery person won (I'm blushing that I don't know this member - If you know who it was, please leave a comment and let us know - all I do remember is that she does beautiful quilting.  Then we'll know who to ask about the great items she won and how she likes them).  And we had Tool-Time Tilly as our guest speaker.  That was fun, we learned some things, and there were prizes!! - that was an unexpected bonus.

Tilly shared a lot of tips about the quilting process and some of the members helped by also giving us some.  If you remembered one she gave us (I was too busy taking pics to jot them down), or know of one not mentioned and you'd like to share, leave a comment to this post.  We'd be thrilled to learn more.

Moda Challenge

Click here for the Just One Star campaign block pattern by Moda.  Read all about it here.

And here's the quilt pattern they are going to use.  Moda wants to have 100 quilts made by June 1st so that they can turn them in on Flag Day, June 14th.  Your block would be much appreciated as one of the 1800 they need.

Making Fleece Blankets with Crochet Edges

The demonstration is done with worsted weight yarn and a size G or H crochet hook. It is possible to use other weight yarn and a different size hook though, it just depends on what style you prefer.

Near Done quilts Soon on Way to New Homes

Judy Bello is making this for a grandson, I believe, who is at Humboldt. Is that right, Judy? A football player, he is going to love this quilt on his dorm room bed. Way to go, Judy!
Jan Mills has been working on this beauty for 30 years! Almost there and will be given as a gift this Christmas. We're proud of your perserverance, Jan, and in awe of your handquilting.

How to Quilt a (BIG) Thanksgiving Turkey!

Birthday Present sent

My son's fiance had a birthday in October and here's the wall hanging I sent her. The blocks were salvaged from a bag of material bought at a yard sale. The quilt was in tatters, so I took the blocks apart and reset them into a smaller piece. Glad I did. This was a quilt as I go project.

And below is what the back looks like:
