  1. I like quilts without borders. My most different border was an appliqued one.

  2. I like them with borders. It gives them a finished look and feel. The most different border was one I just finished was called a pyramid border. It kicked my butt.

  3. I love the vines and flowers but have never tried one yet. That border is on my list! A braded border was one of my first, and most unusual.

  4. I really like quilts with borders. It does give them a more finished look. But, can add complication for a long arm quilter. I've not done on yet, but would like to do it with machine applique. This might be included with the Garden Gate BOM that Angie and I are doing this year. A fun project!

    Thanks for the give away.

  5. I think all quilts need a border! My most unique border is the one I'm working on now for the Riverside Raincross BOM blocks. I've been having fun lately designing my own hand Applique borders.

  6. I think each quilt lets you know if it needs a border or not. My borders vary in size and contrast. My comfort is in having borders so it might be time to stretch beyond the border (LOL!) and try something new.

  7. I think it depends on the quilt. My most challenging quilt was with borders of scallops.

  8. I like a quilt with borders. They frame the piece and give it a finished look. I've not done anything fancy with borders - guess I need to think outside the border!

  9. A reminder - if you want to win the book, you need to leave me your name and last initial (except Ken - we know you, Ken) Here's an example:
Angie N and if you know there are more ANgie Ns in the group put your a second letter with your first letter of your last name. For example we have three Sandy S in our group - so they would have to put Sandy Sh or Sandy Su or -- you get the picture. This is vital if you use anonymous.

  10. I like a border. I also think it gives it a more finished look. I have yet to complete a couple of tops that are waiting for their borders. I need some help on mitering. I'll bring it to the retreat.

  13. I haven't really done much with borders yet but am planning to try some different ones. I always like Cheryl G's applique on borders and my goal for 2014 is to try one of those.
