your Riverside quilt? I'm working on how I want to set my blocks - have a far ways to go! Don't have all the blocks? How about making a wall hanging with the ones you do, or a table runner or a pillow? We'd love to see your creation. Not enough time for one of those - the Guild board thought making a quilt for the Goeske Center would be nice. We have a few of the blocks toward it. If you'd like to contribute one of yours (maybe you made two of one block), give Jeri a call or email her.

Jacket/Tote Workshop
was a success! 14 members participated and started on their jackets or totes (I think it was about even who was doing what). We appreciated all of Lisa Coulombe's demos and suggestions - she guided us forward on these projects on a one on one basis as we needed help or clarification. She brought her jacket patterns for members to trace. She also brought samples of all the sizes. Participants tried them on and they could then customize a pattern to fit them exactly. The comment was made we were a very serious group. We were all so busy, not a lot of talking was going on. It was great to see her totes and jackets up close and personal. Thank you, Susan C., for sending over a few photos of us at work:
Lunch, as always, was delicious! Next workshop, Dresden Plate, in August. Save the date.
| We loved this applique jacket Lisa was wearing. |
| Karen D was working across from Sharon. She was probably at the iron station Lots of ironing to do on this one. |

Quick Note From Lisa...
Just a quick
note to check in before I come to your guild. I'm glad to
hear you have models lined up for the fashion show.
I’m looking forward to coming to your guild and explaining the joys of wearable art to your members. One thing that would make the fashion show extra special is to bring your jackets, vests, etc that you have made in
the past, from any pattern to wear to the meeting, Tuesday the 19th. This will remind all of
the accomplishments found in wearable art, allows us a chance to see what others
have made and provides fertile ground for the inspiration provided in my
fashion show.
See you soon!

Free eBook
Not too long ago I got an email telling me about a free eBook. Free, I'm interested in and if it's about quilting, I'm doubly interested. I followed the link and saw it was a Fons and Porter free eBook about Log Cabins. All I needed was to give my email and I"d get the free book. So off I went.
This 24 page eBook is packed with lots of info about Log Cabin quilts: history, the three most common blocks - traditional, courthouse steps, and chevron, what the center square means. Examples are included of both antique and contemporary quilts with charts to make different sized blocks. Four projects are included with full instructions and photos. Best of all are the articles on techniques to enhance our quilts: Bobbin work with Trapunto; binding with piping, and lumpless binding. Click on the photo to get yours. Happy Quilting!
